Page One Trades

Local SEO for tradesmen across the UKMore jobs from Google. No fee per lead.

Right now, someone near you is searching Google for exactly what you do. Most of them will ring one of the first few names they see. My job is to make that name yours, get you recommended by AI tools like ChatGPT, and catch the enquiries that come in while you're up a ladder.

Free, no obligation, and you keep the findings either way.

Sound familiar?

You're good at the job. Google doesn't know it yet.

You pay for leads you have to share

Lead sites charge you for enquiries that several other trades are quoting on too. The job usually goes to whoever's cheapest, not whoever's best.

You miss jobs while you're working

You can't answer an enquiry halfway up a roof or under a sink. By the time you get back to them, they've often booked someone else.

Worse firms are getting the calls

The business at the top of Google isn't always the best at the job. It's the one Google understands best. That can be you.

All three are fixable. That's what Page One Trades is for.

Services

Three ways to win more of the jobs you want.

Local SEO for tradesmen means making your business the one Google shows when someone nearby searches for your trade. GEO (generative engine optimisation) does the same for AI tools like ChatGPT. I handle both, then make sure every enquiry they bring in actually reaches you.

Local SEO and Google Maps

Be the first name they see

Show up at the top of Google and in the map when people nearby search for your trade.

I make your business details match everywhere online, sort out your Google Business Profile, build a proper page for each service and town you cover, and set you up with a simple way to collect more five-star reviews.

AI search optimisation (GEO)

Be the one ChatGPT recommends

More customers now ask ChatGPT or Google's AI "who's a good plumber near me?". You want to be the answer.

I give AI tools the clear, consistent information they need to recommend you, and check every month what they're saying about you. It's early days for this, which is exactly why it's worth starting now.

Website assistant (AI chatbot)

Never miss an enquiry on the job

An assistant on your website answers questions and takes enquiries day and night, even when you're up a ladder.

It knows your services, prices and areas, takes the customer's name, number and job details, and sends them straight to you. Try the one in the corner of this page.

Process

From a free audit to a busier diary.

  1. 1 This week

    Free audit

Find out exactly why the business above you is above you: where you rank, how your reviews compare, and whether AI tools mention you. The findings are yours to keep, whether or not you go ahead.

  2. 2 First month

    Setup

I fix what the audit found, sort out your Google profile and listings, sharpen your key pages and switch on your website assistant. You carry on working.

  3. 3 Every month after

    Steady climbing

New pages, profile updates and review follow-ups keep you moving up. A one-page report shows your rankings, reviews and enquiries, in plain English.

SEO or lead sites

Is SEO better than Checkatrade for a tradesman?

Directories and lead sites like Checkatrade, MyBuilder and Rated People can help when you're starting out. Ranking your own business on Google works differently: you stop renting customers and start owning where they find you. Many trades use both.

Every month includes Google and AI search work, the website assistant kept up to date, and a short report on how you're doing. There's no contract.

For comparison, most UK SEO providers publish prices between £350 and £1,000 a month for their mainstream packages (Whito pricing research, June 2026).

I won't promise you number one on Google. Nobody honest can. I'll promise the work, a clear report every month, and that you can leave whenever you like.

Questions

Questions tradesmen ask about SEO.

Can't see yours? Ask the assistant in the corner, or call or text 07494 833710.

SEO for tradesmen is the work that makes your business show up when local customers search Google for your trade, such as "roofer Mansfield" or "electrician near me". It covers your Google Business Profile, your website pages, your reviews and making your business details match everywhere online.

Yes, if most of your work comes from local customers. One extra job a month usually covers the cost, and the enquiries come straight to you rather than through a lead site. If you're fully booked from word of mouth, it can wait until you want to grow.

They do different jobs. Lead sites can bring enquiries quickly, but you pay per lead or for membership and you're listed next to competitors. SEO takes a few months to build, but the enquiries come straight to you and keep coming without a fee per lead. Many trades use both.

Usually two to four months to see rankings move properly, depending on your area and how many competitors you have. Google Business Profile improvements and the website assistant can start helping within a few weeks.

Page One Trades costs £200 for setup and then £149 a month, with no contract. For comparison, most UK SEO providers publish prices between £350 and £1,000 a month for their mainstream packages.

AI tools like ChatGPT recommend businesses they can find clear, consistent information about. That means a website that answers customers' questions plainly, matching business details across Google, Bing and directories, genuine reviews, and structured data that tells AI tools what you do and where. That is what the AI search part of the service covers.

Very. For local searches, Google shows a map with three businesses above the normal results, and those come from Google Business Profiles. A complete profile with the right categories, service areas, photos and regular reviews is one of the biggest factors in getting into that map.

You can do the basics yourself: complete your Google Business Profile, ask every customer for a review, and make sure your name, address and phone number match everywhere. The rest takes time and know-how, which is what you'd be paying me for.

No. I work with the website you already have. You just need to give me access so I can make changes.

It sits on your website and answers visitors' questions about your services, prices and the areas you cover. When someone wants a quote, it takes their details and sends them straight to you, day or night.

No. It's month to month. If you want to stop, give 30 days' notice and that's it.
